Here’s a small taste of what’s to come:
As aforementioned, we’re doing away with “training opportunities,” and sticking with “opportunities.” (We decided “training opportunities” is limiting and doesn’t really capture the breadth of the opportunities we advertise on IJNet.)
You will be able to personalize your experience to view the opportunities most relevant to you — by category, location, or date.
Opportunities organized by deadline will help you prioritize your experience.
Opportunity “topic categories” (Access to Information and Basic Journalism in the above example) will be clickable, and will take you to topic page with all information on that topic organized in one place.
The green comes from our main website call-out area. What do you think of the color?
VIDEO/BLOG
Videos will have their own designated space on the new IJNet site (but their home will remain on YouTube). Videos will appear both on a separate video page on IJNet, as well as within topic pages. The video on the right (—>), for instance, would show up on the investigative reporting topic page.
IJNet staff will maintain an IJNet Blog. Each language will have its own blog. The blog will be a space for discussion around news and information that we don’t have a specific place for on the site. It will be a relatively informal conversation led by editors.
… and last but not least …
